The pension priorities for politicians on election trail

The Daily Mail’s online personal finance platform predicts that both Labour and Conservative politicians will consider pensions as a key battleground in the run up to this year’s General Election.

There are five areas identified including: State pension triple lock, lifetime allowance, state pension top up, state pension, child benefit and pot for life.


Two leading personal finance industry figure recognised in Honours list

AJ Bell co-founder Andy Bell and Aviva’s CEO Amanda Blanc have both been awarded CBEs in the Government’s New Year Honours List.

Mr Bell, who co-founded AJ Bell in 1995, received the award ‘for services to the financial sector’.

Amanda Blanc also received the award for ‘services to business, to gender equality and to net zero’.

She was appointed CEO of Aviva in 2020, having previously been the chair of the asset manager’s customer, conduct and reputation board committee.
